Now we are thinking bigger.
Thryve Wellness at Lev Health is open. The turnout, the conversations, and the community standing around this second local door are pushing us to think bigger about what access can become.

The momentum belongs to the community around it.
Less than a year ago, this work was still taking shape. Six months after the Williamsburg opening, we are marking a second local point of psychiatric access—this time inside Lev Health in Monsey. The pace matters because the need is already here.
Rabbonim, askonim, healthcare leaders, community organizations, and elected officials came together for the opening on August 20. Their presence made the day feel larger than a new program. It reflected how many people want a stronger, more accessible mental-health response for this community.
The program now connects people to psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and continuing follow-up, with in-person and telehealth options and Medicaid and most insurance accepted. Thryve brings the community relationships, referral pathway, and coordination together around the licensed clinical care.
This is what localized access can mean: a familiar setting, people who understand the community, and a clear way to begin. Monsey has its own relationships and needs. The program must stay close to both.

Rachel Simon, Medical Director Dr. Leah R. Steinberg, and the outreach and programming team led by Chaim Tuchinsky, LCSW, have helped carry the vision into an operating local program. Chaya Pruss and Hudson Valley Outreach Coordinator Mutchy Brach strengthen the community relationships that make access practical.
The providers doing the work every day give the promise its substance. A ribbon cutting introduces the pathway; their care, judgment, and responsiveness are what families experience when they use it. We are grateful to the team and the partners building this with us.
Why Lev Health
Mental health inside familiar healthcare.
Lev Health already meets families through women’s health, pediatrics, primary care, and other medical services. Bringing psychiatric access into that environment connects the next step to a place people know.
Clinical Director Temima Levine, FNP, and pediatrician Dr. Shari Hirsch are part of the clinical leadership around that work. At the opening, Dr. Hirsch spoke about how pediatricians can notice a child or family’s struggle before they ever enter a mental-health setting. A local, connected pathway makes that moment of recognition matter.

A partnership that believed in the direction.
A special thank-you to Morty Getz of Lev Health, who believed in this direction from the beginning, and to COO Aaron Kessler and the Lev team for helping bring it into place. The collaboration works because both sides are building around the same local need.
Dr. Steinberg emphasized the importance of professional, confidential care becoming available before families reach crisis. Chaim Tuchinsky’s outreach and programming work connects that clinical commitment with the rabbanim, therapists, organizations, and referral relationships around the person.

Leading Rabbonim and community leadership across kehillos joined the gathering, together with elected officials including Assemblymember Aron Wieder and Senator Bill Weber. The opening brought healthcare, communal responsibility, and local leadership into the same conversation.
That presence matters after the ceremony, too. Families often turn first to someone they already trust. A working network needs those relationships to remain close to the program, so a concern can become a confident, appropriate next step.

Williamsburg opened the first door. Monsey is now open, and Monroe and Five Towns are next on the radar as we move forward with speed and purpose. Launch details will follow as each local pathway is ready.
We are learning from each community and improving the model as we grow. The momentum around us is asking us to think bigger than we first envisioned. Our response is to keep building access that remains local, clinically grounded, and connected to the people it is here to serve.

What continues
